Celebrating the Birth Anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) 52 B.H.The month of Rabi‘ al-Awwal sees the birth anniversary of the reviver of the natural religion of Allah in the person of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). For this blessed month, we have chosen to elucidate upon the five verses of the Qur‘an which mention the Prophet by his two names Рhis Earthly name of Muhammad and his Celestial name of Ahmad. This week, we present part two of five in our series on the Mercy to the Universe.Celebrating the Birth РImam Ja‘afar Sadiq (a.s.) 83 A.H. The 17th of Rabi al-Awwal marks the birth anniversary of the 6th Imam, Jafar ibne Muhammad as-Sadiq (AS). Born in the city of Madina, the Imam lived at a very opportune time in Islamic history. The Umayyad dynasty Рthe first of many such dynasties Рreared its ugly head over the Muslim lands around 661 CE, 40 years before the birth of as-Sadiq. The Umayyads remained in power for around 90 years and, thus, the period of their downfall and the uprising of the Abbaside dynasty was the time when the Imam was free to propagate the teachings of Islam. In fact, in the time period of this one Imam, he was witness to no less than the overthrow of 10 Umayyad kings!
